Zubin Mehta as special guest at Belgrade Philharmonics outdoor concert

Maestro Zubin Mehta, the greatest conductor alive, will be a special guest at the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra’s outdoor concert in front of Palata Srbija on 25th June at 8pm.

The Orchestra, to be conducted by Gabriel Feltz, will perform compositions chosen by the audience, and the legendary Mehta will gave a performance at the very end of this special concert, conducting Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5.

“I am so happy that the long-term dream of the Serbian audience of having a new concert hall is about to be realized. I am also happy that I am going to participate in laying its figurative musical foundation stone during this great outdoor concert of the Belgrade Philharmonics”, said Zubin Mehta apropos the concert that will take place in the Block 13 in Novi Beograd.

This will be the first ever outdoor performance of the Belgrade Philharmonic in the very location where a new building that will house the orchestra will be built. The audience will be given an opportunity to vote on the Orchestra’s official website which classical pieces they would like to hear at this outdoor spectacle.

“Concerts and tours have become a part of our routine, but this concert scares me a little bit because it is a serious challenge production-wise. We need to prepare the land, build the stage, have the top notch speakers, technicians, lighting, and security”, says the director of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Ivan Tasovac.
