Yu Grupa, the longest-running rock band in the region of the former Yugoslavia, will perform in a large-scale concert on 10 September in Tašmajdan, where they will also celebrate the group’s 50th anniversary.
“Only love and simplicity have kept us going all these years,” the band members said in a press release.
From its foundation in 1970 to the present day, with the indestructible brothers Žika and Dragi Jelić at the helm, having gone through numerous phases and formations, the third pillar of the band over the past three decades has been guitarist Petar Jelić.
YU Grupa has released a series of important albums, from their self-titled debut “YU Grupa” (1973) to the latest “Evo stojim tu” (2016), which, in addition to several new songs, also contains the band’s classics such as “Crni leptir”, “Čudna šuma”, “Kosovski božuri”, “Od zlata jabuka”, “Mornar”, “Dunavom još šibaju vetrovi”…
On the 50th anniversary, a box set of all 13 albums, with a total of 134 songs, will be jointly released by PGP RTS and Jugoton.
