The theme of the second AFA Summit, which opens on October 31st at 6 pm, at the Radisson Old Mill Hotel in Belgrade, will be the economic empowerment of women, their professional affirmation and the creation of a society of equal opportunities.
The AFA Summit will bring together leading experts from various fields, representatives of industry, government and public administration, institutions, embassies and non-governmental sector in order to explore how the people at the helm of leading industries manage change, to highlight the greatest challenges that society faces, and how innovative technologies can contribute to the improvement of the business environment and the development of the economy through the application of the principle of equal opportunities.
The summit will be opened on October 31st, at 6 pm with a roundtable discussion that will deal with the topic of empowering women through innovation and technology. Moderator will be Rina Bar-Tal, former president of the Israeli Women’s Network and members of the International AFA Advisory Board.

During the second day, November 1st, the most influential representatives of the leading technology companies will participate in panel discussions dedicated to the topics like IT sector’s contribution to increasing gender equality in the work environment and education, corporate leaders managing change and using their businesses to address important social issues, including gender equality.
The panel dedicated to entrepreneurship will deal with the topic of investing in technology startups and digitization and will include the leaders in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector who will talk about how technological innovations can transform the healthcare system.
Special attention will be given to the panel devoted to the financial sector, where a number of women in leading positions in the financial sector will discuss the changes that the financial industry will go through thanks to Fintech and blockchain technology.
In the very end, representatives of the largest domestic business associations, such as the Privrednik Club and the Serbian Association of Managers, will discuss the importance and the impact of networking since, according to the latest research, the lack of networking is one of the main disadvantages and the reason why women are still less successful than their male peers.
The “Day After”, November 1st, is also reserved for workshops and coaching aimed at sharing ideas, knowledge and experiences with guests from abroad, as well as networking and promotion of new business ideas.
