Wizz Air to base its fourth plane at Belgrade airport

Low-cost carrier Wizz Air will expand its operations from Belgrade airport and launch five new flights, as well as station its fourth Airbus A321 at the airport.

The airline will launch flights from the Serbian capital to Lisbon, Bergamo, Berlin, Copenhagen and Zakynthos. As a result, the budget carrier will be the sole operator between Serbia and Portugal, while it will compete directly against Air Serbia in regard to flights to Berlin and Copenhagen and indirectly to Bergamo, with the Serbian flag carrier flying to Milan Malpensa airport. The Portuguese capital is Belgrade’s busiest unserved route in Europe based on indirect traffic volumes.

The new flights will be launched in late July and early August 2023, with exception of Bergamo which will commence in September. Services to Berlin and Copenhagen will run four times per week, Lisbon and Zakynthos twice per week, while Wizz Air will fly from Belgrade to Bergamo five times per week.
