Who did Vučić speak with in Davos?

On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos today, the President of Serbia met with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker, French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as the President of the French electricity company EDF, Bernard Fontana.

On his Instagram profile, alongside a photo of his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, Vučić wrote that it is always “good and useful to hear what one of the most important leaders has to say about current global challenges and ways to overcome crises and growing divisions through more dialogue and responsibility”. He said that he had come to hear Macron’s speech in Davos. As he wrote on Instagram, during a brief meeting with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker he discussed “current European challenges, economic cooperation and the importance of stability in Europe”.

Vučić emphasised that in these difficult times, it is important to work together on projects that strengthen security and ensure a better future for citizens.

Vučić spoke with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković about NIS and the overall energy situation. “With Andrej Plenković about issues related to NIS, the overall energy situation and ensuring stable supply under complex circumstances,” Vučić stated on Instagram.

He also spoke with the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the French electricity company EDF, Bernard Fontana, with whom, as he said, he discussed “comprehensive problems Serbia is facing in the field of energy”.

He said that he had invited them to “come to Belgrade as soon as possible” to discuss approaches to addressing challenges in energy security and creating stable, predictable conditions for the economy and citizens, as well as nuclear energy. “We discussed the modernisation and resilience of power systems, accelerating decarbonisation with realistic deadlines and financially sustainable models, as well as the exchange of knowledge and experience in the fields of energy transition, new technologies and the management of large infrastructure projects. Especially today, energy is becoming an issue of both development and security, and therefore Serbia continues to seek partnerships that deliver concrete results, investments and technological progress, with full responsibility towards the future,” Vučić wrote.

Earlier, during the first day of the World Economic Forum 2026, Vučić also spoke with and met Polish President Karol Nawrocki and European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde.

He also spoke with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, and with the presidents of Switzerland and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The President of Serbia also took part today in the panel “Shaping the Economic Identity of Eurasia” in Davos, together with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Limak Holdings President Ebru Özdemir.
