Most shops in Serbia will be open on Saturday, 1 May, while they will be closed on Orthodox Easter Sunday. However, everything will reopen on Monday, 3 May.
Lidl supermarkets will be open until 6 pm on Friday, 30 April, while on Saturday and Sunday, 1 and 2 May, they will be closed, and on 3 May, they will be open again according to the usual working hours.
The chain says that the combined holidays will allow their employees to spend time and holidays with their families.
Unlike Lidl, all Idea, Roda and Mercator shops will be open on 1 May as usual, while on 2 May, most will be closed, including the Idea online shop.
The Maxi, Mega Maxi, Shop & Go and Tempo shops will be open until 6 p.m. on Friday, 30 April and on Saturday, 1 May, during the usual working hours. On Easter and May 2, all shops will be closed and from Monday, May 3, the entire retail system will operate as usual.
“For people who have decided to spend their holidays in Zlatibor, Kopaonik, Palić or Soko Banja, on May 2 can shop at Idea in these locations,” the supermarket chain said in the press release.
Green outdoor markets, which operate under the auspices of Gradske Pijace in Belgrade during the Easter and May 1 holidays, except on May 2, will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Outdoor markets will not be open on Easter Day, with the exception of the Zemun, Banovo Brdo, Bele Vode and Dušanovac markets, which will be open from 6:00 to 13:00.
Finally, the OTC market in New Belgrade will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., while it will be closed on 2 and 3 May.
