Which media outlets manipulate news the most?

The Raskrikavanje website states that six daily newspapers – Informer, Srpski Telegraf, Alo, Večernje Novosti, Kurir and Politika – published “at least 1,154 spinning (manipulated) news” on their front pages in 2023.

“It is mainly about unfounded, biased and manipulative headlines. This year, we added the Politika newspaper to the sample we are analyzing, due to the increased number of manipulative news we come across in this newspaper,” the portal writes.

Informer takes the lead as it published a total of 348 news that were spun,  that is, an average of more than one per day.

Raskrikavanje states that Srpski Telegraf takes second place with 252 news, followed by Alo with 232, Večernje nNvosti with 226, Kurir with 56 and Politika with 40.

“This year too, Aleksandar Vučić was the most reported on figure and a politician that was most often presented in a positive (rarely in a neutral) context, as he appeared on the front pages of newspapers almost every day,” writes Raskrikavanje.

The website also states that the publishers of those six newspapers concluded deals with the state, whether through tenders or local media competitions, worth more than 1.3 million euros.
