Vucic: “We have no way out, we have been cornered. The Serbs will leave the institutions of Pristina from September and the police too from October 1”

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic addressed the nation today following Thursday’s talks in Brussels on the Kosovo issue.

Vucic said the key message for the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija is that, “no matter what happens, there will be no refugee column. We will save people from persecution and pogroms,” said the president, who said that Serbian representatives told him that if the persecution is not stopped, Serbian politicians will leave the Pristina institutions next month, and then by the end of September also policemen, judges and prosecutors will leave.

Vucic said Pristina has two goals: the abolition of the Serbian state in Kosovo and Metohija and the expulsion of the Serbs. The key message for the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija is that no matter what happens, there will be no refugee columns, Vučić said. President Vučić stated that the Pristina delegation in Brussels has offered to discuss the so-called general agreement. “I said we should go step by step, to build trust so that people start collaborating, so that business people start collaborating, disagree, but not be surprised,” he said. Vučić, who pointed out that all kinds of intelligence activities have been intensified in northern Kosovo and Metohija.

The President of Serbia reported that the representatives of the Serbs told him that, if the persecution is not stopped, in the next month the Serbian politicians will leave the institutions of Pristina, and then by the end of September the police will also leave the Kosovar institutions, judges and prosecutors. Vucic said Thursday from Brussels, where he participated in the talks between Belgrade and Pristina, that it has been a difficult day for Serbia and stressed that it will continue to fight for peace and stability. In ten days, according to the announcements, Pristina will implement the decisions on the re-registration of vehicles and identity cards, which it had originally abandoned in late July. The director of the Kosovo and Metohija Office, Petar Petković, reacted to the announcement in Pristina and assessed that the political structures in Pristina are run by extremists who do not at all recognize the value of dialogue and peaceful resolution of problems. The KFOR mission responded to the growing tensions. He announced that he is increasing his presence and patrolling along the administrative crossings of Jarinje and Brnjak to raise awareness of the situation. They are ready, as they added, to intervene if necessary.

After the statement to the media Vucic said that it is since 1999, since the Kumanovo Agreement and the UN Resolution 1244 were made waste paper, that a campaign of terror against the Kosovo Serbs has been underway: “This has resulted in to over 200,000 exiles, who lost their property, while many were killed. “Now they are determined to expel the Serbs from northern Kosovo as the last bone in their throat,” Vučić said and added: “The key message for the Serbs in Kosovo it is that, whatever happens, there will be no columns of refugees and we will save our people from the pogroms”.

“I ask NATO to do its job”

The president asked NATO to do its job, to ensure peace for the Serbs in the North, so that they are not threatened by the Albanian police. “It is up to you to ensure that the gang does not cross the Ibar. Barricades are a problem for you, not criminal decisions”, underlined Vučić, recalling that the approval of the mayor is required for entry to the north. “We have nowhere to go, we are cornered, as far as Kosovo and Metohija are concerned” We have nowhere to go, we are cornered regarding Kosovo and Metohija, and our key message today, to our people in Kosovo and Metohija, is this: no matter what and whatever, the refugee columns do not they will verify, we will save our people in Kosovo “. Vučić. Vucic said that the Belgrade delegation of the highest level in Brussels a few days ago, in continuation of the dialogue with Pristina, had four tasks:

“First, do everything in our power to preserve peace, stability, security and protection. Second, we had to avoid the West’s general condemnation of Serbia, which we haven’t been enough to. a compromise, that we had no ideas and proposals on how to reach a compromise, said Vučić. He added that we are not alone in the world, but that, however small, we must take care of ourselves, but also take into account the strength of the others. “Thirdly, we had to, and this was very important to us, to worry about what it will look like in all parts of the world, whether we will be declared as someone who engages in aggression, leads to instability and insecurity, or will more than possible, to see that the other side is the one that wants nothing, but brings instability, riots, conflicts and wars, “Vučić said. And the fourth point, he added, is to ensure the survival of our people in Kosovo, has Vučić pointed out.

“We will frantically seek a compromise, I hope we will succeed”

Vučić said the situation is very difficult: “We will frantically seek a compromise in the next 10 days. I hope we will succeed,” says Vučić. “I’m afraid”, he notes, that even if we succeed, the next corner awaits us. “I’m afraid the Rubicon was crossed a long time ago,” said Vučić.
