The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, will meet in Belgrade with Matteo Salvini, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport.
According to an earlier announcement from the Italian government, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, will be on an official visit to Belgrade on 6 and 7 July. The purpose of the visit, as stated in the Italian Government’s press release, is to further strengthen cooperation between Italy and Serbia, with a specific focus on the fields of infrastructure, transport, and economic development.
Previous high-level meetings
Vučić and Salvini previously met at the highest level in May 2019 in Rome, when Salvini was serving as Minister of the Interior and confirmed Italy’s support for Serbia’s accession to the European Union.
In August last year, the Serbian President also hosted Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. During that working visit, a dinner was held where bilateral relations and Serbia’s European integration process were discussed.
