Vucic to meet with Macron in Paris today – nuclear energy one of the topics

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, will meet with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, tomorrow in Paris, a visit announced as very significant for Serbia.

They will discuss the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, Kosovo, Srebrenica, nuclear energy, the purchase of 12 Rafal fighter jets, as well as other topics.

One of the topics will be the construction of large and small nuclear power plants, as France is the biggest European nuclear energy power. It gets 70 percent of its electricity from nuclear energy.

 The French newspaper Figaro writes that Macron and Vucic will discuss Serbia’s integration into the EU and relations between Belgrade and Pristina on Monday at the Elysee Palace. The newspaper states that on this occasion Macron “will confirm his commitment and full support for the European integration of Serbia” and “that the normalization of relations with Kosovo is an integral part of the EU accession process”.

The two presidents will speak at a joint conference that will be held in the Elysee Palace, followed by a gala dinner that Macron is hosting for President Vučić.
