“I will announce the name of the Government within 48 hours”, said the President of SNS Aleksandar Vučić. He knows the name, but says that he cannot announce it, according to the Constitution, as the president of the party, but as the president of the state. “Either Friday night or Saturday morning – you will find out the name of the mandate holder,” he said. “Most likely” the mandate will be one of the two SNS candidates – Ana Brnabić or Miloš Vučević, and that, as he said, was supported by 90 percent of the SNS Presidency, although the third person was not ruled out either.
At the session of the Presidency of the Serbian Progressive Party, the issue of the mandate and composition of the future government and the situation in Kosovo and Metohija were discussed, said Vučić.
“There were discussions that some others should be proposed, not only from SNS”, but a huge number of people wanted to be one of our two candidates – Brnabić or Vucevic, he said at the press conference. Both the current Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and the current mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević will be part of the Government, in which position you will know in two days, there will be many changes in the Government and non-party oriented ones, said Vučić. Most likely, one of the two will be the mandate holder, although the party left me the option to choose a third person, he added.
He says that the appointed prime minister should be asked about the composition of the Government, but he believes that it will be formed in two or three weeks, once appointed prime minister will be chisen.
“Assessing the appointed prime minsiter is not an easy matter, I decided to put an end to it and I told them today because I know how many problems await us. I would like to see a new energy in the ministries, a lot of new people, new energy, new passion to do things that will remain … And according to the Constitution, we have a deadline of October 30, but we’ll enter in that process in two days”, Vucic said.
Fortunately, we hedged very well the situation
Vučić said that there are a million problems related to the whole situation in world.
“Oil, gasoline, whatever people buy – there will be problems.” We all have problems with the dollar jumping in relation to the euro, fortunately, we, as a country, hedged it well in time, so most of our debt is in euros, and fortunately that debt is not large compared to almost all European countries. I think there are three or four European countries with lower public debt than Serbia,” he said. We are succeeding so far and we will fight and I hope we will be better than others in the surrounding although we are in a more difficult situation due to the non-introduction of sanctions against Russia and Kosovo, he added.
“I will send a letter regarding KFOR and NATO”
“Regarding what KFOR and NATO are doing, I will send a letter with the Prime Minister and the President of the Assembly because we interpret their role differently. They can formally refer to freedom of movement, but it was not threatened by the barricades, but by those who want to introduce a kind of visa regime for the Serbian people, who want to stop traffic on the administrative line… Their goal is to protect the Serbian population, they are talking about people who are a minority, why not protect them,” he said.
