At the opening of a new factory by Magna Seating in Odzaci, PM Aleksandar Vucic said that the minimum wage and civil servant salaries would go up by the year-end.
“Maybe that will happen in September or October, but the civil servant salaries will definitely go up by 10%. Also, we are going to increase the minimum wage, and we expect our private sector to grow too. Furthermore, labour-related taxes and contributions will be reduced by 1% or 2%. We can do all of this because we have achieved good financial results with the budget surplus of 23 billion dinars, instead of an 80-billion-loss”, Vucic added.
Magna Seating opened a new car seat cover production facility in Odzaci yesterday that will create 550 new jobs. Magna already has 1,200 employees here.
“So far, our state has invested 4.45 million EUR in Magna, and the factory will be entitled to even bigger subsidies if it ups the number of its employees to 2,500. Thanks to Magna, new jobs were created, Odzaci became a better place to live in, and people have a better future now”, the Prime Minister went on to say.
On the occasion, he also said that, by the year-end, Serbia was supposed to sign an agreement with China stipulating export of pork. He also said that he was confident that an agreement would be reached with the Chinese partners about RTB Bor.
