Aleksandar Vučić attended today the ceremony marking the beginning of the construction of the repair facility by the German company MTU Aero Engines in Nova Pazova.
On the occasion, Vučić said that MTU is a fantastic investor, and the investment will bring big changes to Nova Pazova, in addition to more income. “A number of our technical school students will also be employed at MTU,” he added.
The Serbian President also said that the German companies in Serbia currently employed 70,789 workers.
German company MTU Aero Engines, a leading manufacturer of aircraft engines and a global player in the aviation industry, today in Nova Pazova began work on the construction of a factory facility for repairing aircraft engines MTU Maintenance Serbia.
The investment is worth a total of about 100 million euro, and in the first phase, up to 500 people will be employed, while between 1,800 to 2,000 jobs will be created overall.
As previously announced, the MTU plant in Serbia will be able to perform about 400.000 hours of an overhaul a year.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by the head of the Vojvodina government, Igor Mirović, the Minister of Economy Andjelka Atanasković, the German Ambassador to Serbia, Thomas Schieb and the representatives of MTU.
Rainer Becker, project manager and CEO of MTU Maintenance Serbia, said that the company was at the start of a fantastic journey and added that they had already employed 60 people in Nova Pazova.
