The president of the opposition’s Freedom and Justice Party, Dragan Djilas, has confirmed that he had received an invitation to talk from Aleksandar Vučić’s cabinet and that the meeting would be held today, Monday, at 4 p.m., at the Serbian presidency building.
“The topic of the conversation will be the possible solutions for the political crisis in Belgrade,” said Djilas and added that representatives of his coalition continue to fight for the re-run of the elections in a number of polling stations. “We must be aware that even if this happens, given the position of some opposition parties that will not cooperate with us, it will not be possible to form a government in Belgrade in line with the electoral will expressed by the Belgrade citizens. That is why the only solution is to hold new elections, which should be held in a different atmosphere and be devoid of irregularities, which have been noted at a considerable number of polling stations,” said Djilas.
Last night, President Vucic announced that he would invite Djilas to have talks. “We need to talk and we all need to change ourselves and show more mutual respect,” Vucic added.
