It is voting day in the Serbian Parliament, with MPs voting on 59 agenda items, the first of which is the proposed budget review for this year. Voting on the agenda items begins at 10:00 am.
MPs are also expressing their votes on several financial laws, as well as measures to mitigate the consequences of the energy crisis and the rising cost of living.
They are also voting on proposals and amendments to laws regarding the judiciary, anti-corruption, electronic governance, the media, and real estate rights registration.
Before the MPs is also the bill on the final budget account of Serbia for 2025.
Among the items being voted on are proposed laws regarding Serbia’s borrowing to finance infrastructure projects, including the Belgrade–Zrenjanin–Novi Sad motorway, several expressways, and the Serbia–Hungary oil pipeline.
MPs are voting on several international agreements as well, including those with Angola, Algeria, and Azerbaijan, along with a loan from the Council of Europe Development Bank for the renovation of healthcare centres.
Votes are also taking place on reports from several state institutions for 2025, as well as proposed decisions submitted by the relevant parliamentary committees.
MPs from the ruling coalition announced they would support the proposed legal solutions during the debate in principle and the detailed clause-by-clause debate on amendments, whereas opposition MPs criticized the proposed laws.
The extraordinary parliamentary session, which began on 24 August, was convened by the Speaker of Parliament, Ana Brnabić, at the request of 109 MPs.
