UsWitch.com: The food in Belgrade is excellent

The experts at Uswitch.com have analysed a number of four and more star restaurants in Europe, taking into consideration the average price of meals and the average rating for fast food, cafes, pubs and vegetarian restaurants. The list they compiled contains a ranking of the best European cities for food connoisseurs.

Athens ranks first as the best European city for gastronomic fans, with a total score of 88.47 out of 100. It has the third-highest score for cafés of all the cities analysed (9/10), beating other capitals such as Madrid (8.05/10) by 0.95.

Belgrade is the best restaurant capital for vegetarians (8.85 out of 10), and the second-best capital for food lovers, with a total score of 83.06 / 100. It is also the second cheapest Eastern European city, at just €15.98 per meal, half the price of Romania’s capital Bucharest (€32.52).

Croatia’s capital, Zagreb, is ninth in this ranking and takes third place when it comes to vegetarian food and breakfast offers. Despite once being called the ‘food capital of the world’, Paris is at the bottom of the list, in 24th place with a score of 38.20/100. The average price of a meal in the city is €27.03, almost double that of Skopje (€14.10). The French capital is also badly ranked in cafés, with a score of 8.39 out of 10, which is the fifth lowest in Europe.

With a very low score of 15.99 / 100, Stockholm is the lowest scoring European capital for food lovers. With the second-highest average meal price (€61.28) behind Denmark (€67.89), the Swedish capital is also in last place in terms of quality of pubs, with a score of 7.83 / 10.
