The US automotive company Rivian, which produces electric off-road vehicles, is expected to open a development centre in Serbia by the end of the year and initially hire 200 highly qualified engineers.
This company, headquartered in California, has several subsidiaries (one in the Netherlands and one in Great Britain), so Serbia could soon become the third European destination for one of the most famous companies in the production of light cargo vehicles.
The company’s website currently has 786 advertised vacancies, for mainly highly qualified engineers, including vacancies in the future development centre in Serbia.
The news of Rivian’s arrival was confirmed by the company last week, and the country’s President, Aleksandar Vučić, during his stay in New York.
“200 jobs engineering jobs will have been created by the year-end. Don’t forget that it is one of the two or three strongest American electric car companies. This is a great success for our country,’ Vučić said from the US.
