The representative of the opposition’s Zajedno coalition, Aleksandar Jovanović Ćuta, said that it is highly likely that the Bechtel Company will take the place of Rio Tinto when it comes to exploration of lithium in Serbia.
He also claims that the cooperation between the two companies has been going on for years and that with this decision, the Jadar project will have a new stakeholder on the scene.
“We hear more and more that Bechtel will continue the Jadar project and lithium mining in Serbia. I would like to ask both the Serbian President and the Prime Minister if this is true,” Jovanović told Nova.
Bechtel has been operational in Serbia for a long time and is engaged in large-scale infrastructure projects.
