Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic announced today that the American company Ametek would open a new factory in Serbia, where it would employ 500 people.
– This American company will open a production facility spanning 10,000 square meters in the upcoming days, and they did not ask for any state subsidies and incentives – Vucic said to the press following his meeting with Brian Hoyt Yee, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.
Serbian PM expects that there will be many more similar American investments, and underlines that the American investors have come to Serbia thanks to its good business environment.
Ametek is operating from the town of Subotica, where it has a facility for production of small engines.
Ametek, Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electro-mechanical devices with annual sales of approximately $4 billion.
The US company has more than 15,000 workers at nearly 150 manufacturing locations around the world. Supporting those operations are nearly 100 sales and service locations across the United States and 30 in other countries.
