This year, the University of Novi Sad has been re-included in the list of the top 1,000 in the world, according to the list published by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
As in previous years, with the exception of 2020, the University of Novi Sad was ranked between the 901st and 1000th places on the list.
The University of Novi Sad is among the top 300 in the world in two out of 54 fields. These are food science and technology, as well as catering and tourism management.
Of the regional universities, those in Belgrade, Zagreb and Ljubljana are among the top 500.
The Shanghai list is informal but considered one of the most renowned university ranking in the world.
For the 20th consecutive year, Harvard University tops the list. Universities are ranked based on several criteria, such as the number of alumni and professors/researchers who are winners of the Nobel Prize and the Fields Medal, the number of frequently cited professors/researchers in a certain scientific field, the number of scientific papers published in the journals Science and Nature, the number of scientific works published in journals with Science Citation Index and Social Science Citation Index and academic contribution according to the relevant indicators in relation to the number of employees.
