An exclusive concert by the founders of the cult group Tuxedomoon will take place tomorrow, 26 May, from 8 pm in the Great Hall of the Dom Omladine, offering audiences the unique opportunity to experience three concerts in one.
During this three-hour event, Blaine L. Reininger and Steven Brown will first perform separate solo concerts, followed by a joint Tuxedomoon jam session. Since 2017, these two giants of the alternative new wave scene have not performed together, and the initiative by Dom Omladine represents a unique – and perhaps final – opportunity on a global scale to hear them in such an unrepeatable programme.
Ahead of this historic performance, Blaine Reininger reveals what audiences can expect from his solo set, during which he will be joined by guitarist Giorgio Valentino. The performance will offer a distinctive overview of his rich career.
The joint appearance in Belgrade carries particular significance, as the two musicians have not performed together since the death of the band’s third member, Peter Principle, in 2017.
Blaine Reininger will perform first, after which the audience will have the chance to hear a set by Steven Brown, who will also perform some of Tuxedomoon’s classics, alongside songs from his previous two solo albums, In This Very World and El Hombre Invisible. He will be accompanied on stage by Luc Van Lieshout from Tuxedomoon’s live line-up and Aksak Maboul member Lysiane Frappart.
In the concert finale, Reininger and Brown, joined by the other musicians, will perform some of the most famous tracks by this legendary group together as part of a special Tuxedomoon jam session.
