Serbian Economy Minister, Rade Basta, and the Turkish ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Hami Aksoy, had a meeting at which they talked about investments and developing the economic cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of Turkish investors interested in building a hospital in Serbia, the line ministry has announced.
The investor from Turkiye is interested in building a hospital spanning 60,000 square metres, with 300 hospital beds, which will also create close to 1,000 new jobs.
“Ambassador Aksoy, I am honoured that you have brought with you an important investor so that we could talk about the potential for cooperation and the opportunity to create new jobs. Serbia has top-quality medical staff and we’ve had enough of our workers leaving. We are launching new investment projects to keep our medical staff in Serbia,” said Minister Basta.
The Ministry of Economy has supported eight investment projects whose investors are companies from Turkiye with state incentives.
The implementation of all eight investment projects entails an investment of over EUR 105 million and the employment of 4,628 workers.
