Trade Union wants a new agreement with Fiat

President of the Independent Trade Union at Fiat Chrysler Automobili (FCA) in Kragujevac, Zoran Markovic told FoNet that after Prime Minister Ana Bnabic said that the Italian company would not leave Kragujevac, Fiat’s employees expected the state authorities to get more involved in their rights.

The union and employees expect the Serbian government and Fiat to reach an agreement on a new contract as soon as possible, and finally put it on paper and sign it, Markovic said.

Markovic added that three issues, which need urgent dealing with, would take precedent in the new agreement. “The most important thing for us is for how long the basic contract is going to be extended, the exact number of employees and whether the employees would be 100% engaged in production”,   Markovic says and adds that in the last seven months, workers had a certain number of non-working days or paid leave every month which had a negative impact on their earnings.

“This has caused a lot of dissatisfaction among the employees, and therefore we expect a new work format and 100% work engagement of all employees in the company”, Markovic explained.

Fiat’s factory in Kragujevac has reinstated the production of the Fiat 500 L model after a third halt in production this year.

“Now, two shifts are producing 410 cars and day and we hope that this production pace will continue in the next period too”, Markovic adds.
