Toyo Tires to begin construction of an innovation centre in Inđija

The Japanese tyre manufacturer Toyo Tires will begin construction works tomorrow on an Innovation Centre in Serbia, within the Toyo factory complex in Inđija, in the presence of President Aleksandar Vučić.

Also attending will be Satoru Moriya, a board member and executive director of Toyo Tires Corporation responsible for the technology sector, as well as Atsushi Saito, a representative of the Embassy of Japan in Serbia, along with representatives of the Government of Serbia, the municipality of Inđija, and other relevant institutions, the company has announced. The Innovation Centre will serve as a key base for advancing processing technologies and will focus on the development of new formulations and materials, material and compound design, as well as the research and evaluation of raw materials, thereby contributing to the further development of advanced manufacturing technologies.

The centre will cover approximately 4,600 square metres, and thanks to its location near the factory and the test track, it will enable the rapid implementation of the entire process from material development, through tyre production, to vehicle testing – significantly accelerating product development and verification and shortening the time required to bring products to market.

Toyo Tires Serbia previously announced that it would lay the foundation stone for the construction of a research and development (R&D) centre in Inđija on 19 March.

In 2019, the company established a development centre in Germany and, together with its technology centres in Japan and North America, built a global research and development network.

As part of the medium-term business plan called Plan ’26, published on 4 March this year, the company has set a goal to further enhance product performance, brand strength, and overall business competitiveness through the synergy of integrating production, sales, and technology functions, which form the foundation of its operations in Europe.

Toyo Tires Serbia began production in Inđija in 2022, employs around 630 workers, and produces approximately five million tyres annually.
