The American company Ecor Global and the Belgian Somnis Bedding will invest 80 million euros in Novi Bečej, while the Hungarian company, Jastreb, is opening a production facility in Mali Iđoš worth 11.5 million euros.
As the provincial secretary for regional development, interregional cooperation and local government, Aleksandar Sofić, said, the American company Ecor Global, which is engaged in the production of environmentally friendly panels from agricultural residues, will build a factory in Novi Bečej, an investment worth more than 70 million euros, and will employ at least 100 people.
The Belgian company Somnis Bedding, which produces mattresses, will also invest over 10 million euros in Novi Bečej, and in the first phase alone, it will create 120 new jobs. In the town of Mali Iđoš, the Hungarian company, Jastreb plans to build an electrode factory in which it will invest 11.5 million EUR and create 140 new jobs.
Sofić also said that the provincial government concluded contracts on co-financing of investment projects in industrial and business zones, worth 230 million dinars, to representatives of the municipalities of Mali Iđoš and Novi Bečej.
