This weekend in Belgrade and Novi Sad – concerts at BitefArt Cafe, Belgrade Marathon and Wine Salon

It’s Thursday and time for our report about the cultural and entertainment events coming up in the next few days.

BELGRADE

Event: Concert by Matija Dedic and Manu Katche

Place: BitefArt Cafe

Time: Sunday, 10th April, 10 pm

Two seemingly very different but superb musicians, Matija Dedic and Manu Katche, will perform at BitefArt Cafe this coming Sunday. Matija, the son of the late music icon, Arsen Dedic and an accomplished musician himself, and Manu Katche, French-African musician and pop, rock and jazz composer, teamed up for a joint performance as part of Musicology BarCaffe Sessions. Manu Katche started his career as a drummer for Peter Gabriel, Tracy Chapman, Joni Mitchell, Dire Straits and Sting, and continued as a solo artist in 1992 when he released his first album ‘It’s About Time’. In this part of the world, he is known for his collaboration with the popular Croatian musician, Gibonni.

Event: Belgrade Marathon

Place: Start at the junction of Kralj Aleksandar Boulevard and Resavska Street

Time: Sunday, 14th April, 10 am

This year, the Belgrade Marathon is taking place for the 32nd time. The Marathon comprises of three races – 5km, 21.1km and 42.19km. The shortest race (the 5km one) is non-competitive, there is no need to register beforehand, and there are no winners or losers. The race starts at 10:05 am at the junction of Knez Milos Street and Nikola Pasic Square (in front of the Serbian Parliament building). If you want to participate in other two races – 21.1km and 42.19km – you will have to register before the event, at the Registration/EXPO centre which is open from Thursday, April 11th until Saturday, April 13th. Location: Dom Omladine Beograda / Belgrade Youth Centre, Makedonska Street 22/4th floor.

NOVI SAD

Event: Novi Sad Wine Salon

Place: Hotel Park

Time: 12th and 13th April

The second Novi Sad Wine Salon will be held on April 12th and 13th at Hotel Park, with 90 renowned wineries from Serbia and all over the world presenting their 500 of their best wines, as well as a dozen selected brandy makers presenting their products. The visitors will also be able to participate in various workshops, tasting sessions, and exclusive masterclasses. For more information about the event, please click here.
