The concert from The Road to Belcanto series, which will take place on December 14th in the Atrium of the National Museum, is dedicated to the Italian composer Francesco Paolo Tosti.
Organized by the Ars Creativa Association and in cooperation with the National Institute of Tosti from Ortona, Italy, former and current classical music students will perform selected compositions by Tosti, under the mentorship of tenor and Professor Nikola Kitanovski.
Singer, composer and music professor Francesco Paolo Tosti is one of the most original Italian classical musicians of the 19th century. He composed music to more than a hundred European poets. Abruzzo (his native region), Naples, Italy as a whole, England and France were the cultural and geographical contexts in which Tosti actively created. Tosti was also celebrated as a singing teacher and taught singing to many members of the British Royal Family, including Queen Victoria, King Edward VII and King George V.
