Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Tatjana Matic, has welcomed the initiative of the Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Carlo Lo Cascio, to raise the issue of reintroducing direct flights to Italy, which were cancelled during the pandemic, with the aim of strengthening economic relations between the two countries, especially in the field of trade and tourism.
Matic underlined that Italy is one of the main economic partners of Serbia and consequently proposed the development of a plan for future activities in order to continue successful cooperation.
Officials noted that Italy can provide significant strategic support to Serbia in terms of improving tourism, especially in less developed areas.
Italian Ambassador Lo Cascio also said that Serbia has Italy’s support for EU membership and that there is a place for Serbia in the EU.
He particularly praised the stability of Serbia’s COVID-19 immunization campaign.
