The Nutcracker, the most beloved Christmas ballet, which has traditionally delighted the people of Belgrade year after year, will once again be performed this year on two dates, 24 and 25 December, at the mts Dvorana in a spectacular production by the Ukrainian Classical Ballet.
Ballet enthusiasts will have the opportunity to enjoy the magical world of Clara, a young girl who discovers an extraordinary gift beneath the Christmas tree – a wooden Nutcracker doll – and embarks on marvellous adventures accompanied by the timeless music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
The traditional choreography is enriched with modern scenographic and directing solutions, lavish decorations and costumes, as well as contemporary video projections, and the ballet troupe is composed of soloists who are principal dancers of the most prestigious European theatres.
The Nutcracker, the last of Tchaikovsky’s three ballets, despite the failure of its first performance back in 1892, has become an indispensable part of Christmas tradition, winning the hearts of audiences around the world for generations.
