The number of employed people in Serbia increases

In the third quarter of this year, the number of employed people in Serbia was 2,224,842, which is 44,422 or 2% more than in the same quarter last year, the State Statistical Office has said.

The majority of workers in Serbia have a standard job contract (2,092,398 of them), 66,906 have a temporary or project-only job contract, while the number of registered individual farmers is 65,538.

The highest growth, of 2.8% compared to the same quarter last year, was recorded in the number of workers who have a standard job contract.

If we look at the demographic data, the highest employment growth was recorded in Belgrade and Vojvodina.

In terms of economic branches, most of the new workers are employed in the manufacturing industry, followed by construction, retail, repairing motor vehicles, IT, communications and transport.
