From May 14-20, the Museums for 10 (Muzeji za 10) event will be held in 60 towns throughout Serbia, in more than 90 museums and other institutions. The event is a national museum initiative coordinated by the ICOM Srbija National Committee.
The largest museum initiative in Serbia so far, unique in the European cultural space, has been created with the idea of facilitating closer cooperation and joint performance of museums in Serbia with the goal of their higher visibility and nurturing stronger connections with the local community.
The Muzeji za 10 event will combine European Museum Night (Thursday, May 14), International Museum Day (Wednesday, May 18) and National Museum Week (May 14-20). Admission is free.
During the 7-day programme, museum works in more than 180 locations in 60 towns will stage events. In addition to exhibitions, the event visitors will have the opportunity to participate in additional programmes, some guided, interactive workshops for children and adults, lectures, film screenings, plays and performances, book promotions, concerts, and other activities.
