The most popular Google search words in Serbia in 2019

Google has published its annual list of the most commonly searched items which showed that football is the most popular search term in Serbia.

The most Googled item in Serbia in 2019 was the Serbia-Portugal EURO 2020 qualifier aired on Nova S TV. That was followed by FIBA World Cup and Australian Open events and matches.

Reality shows, locally-made and foreign TV series also accounted for a large number of Google searches as did Game of Thrones.

The most popular TV series searches included “Žigosani u reketu”, “Ubice mog oca” and “Senke nad Balkanom”, all three TV series produced by United Media as original productions aired on Nova S TV.

As in previous years, the latest TV content and mainly domestic and foreign TV series, but also reality shows, have attracted the attention of a large number of people. In addition, the famous TV series “Game of Thrones” has a huge number of fans in Serbia, as it was the most googled foreign series in Serbia in 2019.

2. The fall of the Berlin Wall

3.Serbia – Portugal football game

4.FIBA World Cup

5. Game of Thrones

6. Žigosani u reketu (TV series)

7. Australian Open 2019

8. Ubice mog oca (TV series)

9. Senke nad Balkanom 2 (TV series)

10. Eurovision 2019

As for the events of the year, the searched were the national team’s football match against Portugal, the World Cup, the Australian Open, Eurovision and Wimbledon.

As for the TV series, “Game of Thrones” ranks first, followed by Serbian TV series “Žigosani u reketu”, “Ubice mog oca 3”, “Senke nad Balkanom 2” and the series on the Chernobyl disaster.
