The Great Johann Strauss Gala in Belgrade on 26th December

The famous European production of Strauss New Year’s concerts is coming again to Belgrade with its popular concert “The Great Johann Strauss Gala” that will be performed at Sava Center, on December 26 at 20:00. The Strauss Festival Orchestra & Strauss Ballet Ensemble have been performing the most famous works of renowned Austrian composer known as The Waltz King for more than 16 years.

The gala is the fusion of the famous marches, polkas and waltzes with dance couples dressed in tuxedos and romantic dresses, reminiscent of the famous ballrooms of the Imperial Vienna of the 19th century. As a symbol of the empire of Franz Joseph and Queen Elisabeth (Sissi), this elegant and refined music has become an indispensable part of the concert repertoire. No festive season is complete without the classic Great Strauss Gala, where the unforgettable melodies of the The Blue Danube waltz, Tales from the Vienna Woods, The Emperor Waltz and the Radetzky March are always met with a storm of enthusiastic applause from the audience.

The Strauss Festival Orchestra is a frequent guest of Europe’s most prestigious concert halls, and their concerts – and the music of Johann Strauss – are attracting an increasing number of music-lovers. Fans of the genre will be able to enjoy not only a superb orchestra, but also the splendid voice of the accompanying soprano soloist and an outstanding ballet performance.

A small favour

Since 2013, Serbian Monitor has been offering to its readers carefully selected news about the Republic of Serbia, as a daily commitment stemming from the genuine desire to offer undistorted information about a country that is too often a victim of prejudice and superficiality. From November 2016, this service is available in English and Italian with a growing number of original articles with a goal of providing a complete picture of this Balkan country's economy, politics, culture and society. Our archive is completely free of charge, available to anyone who wants to get to know the country, to study its specific aspects, or to be constantly updated about it. This project will only be able to continue with the help of readers on whom we are calling to provide a small financial support so that we can continue supplying an increasingly expanding pool of information and original contributions.
