The construction of Linijski Park has started, said Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić during his guest appearance at the Happy TV.
“It will take three years to complete because there are a number of illegal and legal structures that we will have to remove, as well as old railway tracks. When we finish the construction, Linijski Park will be the only park located near the river that will be 4.6 kilometres long,” said Vesić.
According to him, the public utility company Zelenilo Beograd is in charge of planting greenery on the park’s first two sections.
“The first segment of Linijski Park will stretch from Beton Hala, through to Nebojsa Tower and the 25 Maj – Milan Gale Muskatirovic sports centre. The construction of that segment will start at the beginning of next week. As far as the other 8 units go, the Public Investments Secretariat will launch a public tender for the design and execution of the works. I expect that come summer we will start with building the remaining eight segments,” said Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić.
He reminded that the park was designed by young local architects, and it will also be a place for holding various events and cultural activities.
