The City of Belgrade Library launches a film streaming platform

As of 15 November 2021, the Belgrade City Library has launched an online film streaming service on a specially created platform BGB AVA. Here you can find 200 of the world’s best documentaries, feature films and short films, while access to the service is free.

About 50 films have Serbian subtitles, while the rest have English subtitles. The films are classified into different collections, by themes, geographical areas and festivals where they were screened. For example, the Culture, Art and Artists collection contains films on topics ranging from the cultural traditions of the continents to contemporary trends in art and culture.

The collection of short films ‘Zemlja iz Snova’ contains animated films that parents can enjoy with their children. The Focus: Africa collection offers exciting action films, as well as films dealing with topics such as politics, conflict and religion on the African continent, while the films in the Focus: Latin America collection show the beautiful landscapes of Latin American countries as well as great stories about people living in that part of the world.

There are also two collections of films shown at the Berlinale and Beldocs festivals. The platform can be used by all members over 18 years of age, after they complete a simple registration procedure.
