This year’s the Spanish-language film festival, Spanish Meter, will feature over 20 film premieres and take place from 20th to 31st May.
The 14th edition of the Festival, held by the Cervantes Institute in Belgrade, will have four thematic programmes.
As every year, Spanish film fans will have the opportunity to enjoy selected classics from the Spanish film industry, which will be screened on May 20-22, first at the Yugoslav Film Archive (Kionoteka) and then at Dvorana Kulturnog Centra (DKS).
This year’s programme called Fernando Fernan-Gomez Turns 100 is dedicated to one of Spain’s most beloved actors. The audience will be able to watch the films “Asylum,” “El extrano viaje,” and “The Language of Butterflies,” in which Fernan-Gomez played unforgettable roles. In addition, before the screening of these films, starting at 8 p.m., the audience will be shown a ten-minute documentary “Portrait F.F.G.”
The main festival programme will open on May 23 in the Dvorana Kulturnog Centra (DKS), with the film “Sentimental” by Cesc Gay, in which the main roles are played by Spanish stars Javier Camara and Belen Cuesta.
For screenings at Kinoteka, tickets cost 200 dinars and can be purchased at the Kinoteka box office. Tickets for other films cost 300 dinars and can be purchased at the DKC box office.
