Test train on the Novi Sad-Belgrade fast rail exceeds the speed of 200 km/h

A specialised locomotive, belonging to the German Railways, which arrived for the testing of the Novi Sad-Belgrade high-speed line, reached last Friday afternoon a speed of 201,5 kilometers per hour, the Serbian Railways Infrastructure announced. The train reportedly reached that speed without any difficulties in operation and movement.

For the first time, a speed of 200 kilometres per hour was reached during a test on the section of the high-speed railroad between Stara Pazova and Nova Pazova. On the occasion, the speedometer of the special locomotive arrived from Germany to test the railway recorded a maximum speed of 201.5 kilometres per hour.

The tests are proceeding according to the established dynamics and will continue in the coming days.

High-speed testing is carried out in phases and sections along the entire line, and this testing phase is expected to last until February 4. The tests are carried out during the daytime from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm, on the Belgrade – Stara Pazova – Novi Sad section.
