The Local Economic Development Office of the City of Niš has launched a public call for submission of bids to select a company that will build a water park in the locality of Lozni Kalem, near Niška Banja.
The deadline for submission of bids is 26 October and the contractor, as stated in the public call, will have to draft the technical documentation and build the water park within three years.
The facility will be built with funds from the city’s budget and 2.4 billion dinars will be allocated for this purpose. The preliminary design of the water park envisages the construction of an outdoor and indoor segment that will be open all year round. The water park will span 5.4 hectares, with the indoor part spanning 2,000 square metres. It will feature swimming pools, spas, jacuzzis, a massage area and a restaurant.
There will also be water features, wave pools, slides and other facilities. The construction of the water park near Niš was first announced 10 years ago, and the land on Lozni Kalem was then sold to the company Italnis, which had initially promised to spend 100 million euros on constructing the facility, only to withdraw from the project after a few years.
