Survey: Half of people in Serbia would accept the French-German plan for Kosovo

More than half of the people of Serbia, about 57 percent, believe that Serbia should accept the French-German plan for the resolution of the Kosovo issue providing it excludes the formal recognition of Kosovo’s independence and its membership in the United Nations, while 33 percent of those surveyed are against it, according to a public opinion survey conducted by the Faktor Plus Agency.

On the other hand, as many as 80 percent of survey participants are against the proposal if that document would imply the recognition of Kosovo’s independence and its entry into the UN, reports Beta news agency.

The director of the Factor Plus Agency, Vladimir Pejić, says that Kosovo is not an issue that is of much interest to people in Serbia, but when incidents occur, Kosovo comes first.

In terms of rejecting the plan, every second citizen believes that the next plan for the solution of the Kosovo issue will be even worse, and 36 percent of survey participants say that “there won’t be a next plan” while only 21 percent believe that “the next plan will probably be better.”.

Regarding other topics of interest, if the elections were held on Sunday, only 39 percent of the surveyed citizens would vote.
