Under the slogan “Počnimo ljubav ispočetka” (Let’s start loving each other again), the Street Performers Festival, also known as the Gradić Fest, will be held from 26 to 28 August at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad.
The three-day festival will bring together artists, musicians, dancers, theatre companies and performers from Serbia and the region, forming a large open-air art workshop, where artists and the public will spend time together.
The visual identity of the 21st Street Performers Festival is inspired by the aesthetics of the music festivals of the 1950s and 1960s and bright colours are used for its contemporary interpretation. This year’s festival will celebrate a new beginning and will be a kind of homage to the popular music of the 1950s, 1960s and the post-war enthusiasm that reigned in those years.
“On the other hand, it will be a tribute to the timeless artistic values, talent, quality, consistency and longevity of music that has outlived the country in which it was created. That period gave birth to world-famous singers, composers and songwriters, great artists, who have left behind timeless successes and an indelible mark on the lives of many generations. Believing in a better tomorrow dispels fear after the epidemic that brought the whole world to a standstill for a year, and 2021 will be the year of many beginnings,” said the festival organisers.
