State budget review plans 200 billion dinar higher revenue

The state budget review predicts higher budget revenues in the amount of 193 billion dinars. The Fiscal Council assesses that this is well-measured and achievable.

In addition to the 180 billion dinars surplus generated over the period of 10 months, another 13 billion is expected to be generated by the end of the year, according to the budget review proposal. As much as 87 percent of that money comes from taxes.

The State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Saša Stevanović, states that the value-added tax revenue has the highest share in the state budget revenue at 45 percent share, followed by customs duties at 20 percent.

Due to a more effective tax collection, the review anticipates higher revenues from VAT by more than 92 billion dinars, from corporate income tax by 54 billion, and from personal income tax by more than 10 billion dinars.

Economist Goran Nikolić explains that the increased revenues compared to the originally planned resulted in a low budget deficit this year, which is important, especially considering the macroeconomic environment and geopolitical risks.

Also, non-tax revenues from various fees and fines are 24 billion dinars higher. Only the revenues from donations and excise taxes are in decline.
