Srbijagas director: no increase in gas prices for households

The situation with gas and other energy sources in the region and Europe is poor, except in Serbia, as other countries do not have sufficient quantities, while our gas storage facilities are “filled to the brim” and we are now also storing gas in Hungary, Srbijagas Director General Dušan Bajatović said.

“Do not worry about energy supplies in Serbia. We are in the green zone. The liquidity of both Srbijagas and Elektroprivreda Srbije is more than satisfactory, and there will be no increase in prices for households,” he told TV Pink.

He stressed that Serbia currently has the lowest gas prices in Europe and that it is very important to preserve the agreement with Russia, which, he said, will be done.

Speaking about gas prices on the global market, he said they are already rising. “Asia is starting to buy again, and they are competing for LNG (liquefied natural gas). There is a shortage that I believe was not created by accident in Europe. When prices rise, traders who have arranged purchases where the product is produced make a profit. Trump explained it best. Whatever he says they have done, he says: ‘We made good money,’” Bajatović said.
