After a successful performance in Serbia in 2014, the Spanish National Ballet is gearing up for another performance in Belgrade’s Sava Centre on 4th June, 2017.
The Spanish National Ballet, one of the most renowned ballet companies in the world, was founded by the Ministry of Culture in 1978, under the direction of Antonio Gades. Throughout the years, it has evolved to keep up with the modern times, interpreting highly diverse choreographies for flamenco, the stylised Spanish dance, or the Bolera School, among others. The Spanish National Ballet nurtures both traditional and modern dance styles. The fact that UNESCO has included the ballet into its intangible world heritage list speaks of its incredible importance for the world of dance today. A number of great dancers performed with the ballet including Antonio Gades, Joaquin Cortes, Carmen Amaya, Aurora Pons, Nana Lorca, and Aide Gomez.
The fans of the passionate Flamenco will be able to see four performances on the central stage of the Sava Centre. Over 40 top dancers, accompanies by dozens of musicians, will perform in Belgrade to the music of Maurice Ravel, Ritmos, Soleá del Mantón and Alento. The Flamenco dancers will portray the passion of the Spanish mentality combined with the mastery of dance.
The tickets, costing between 2,300 and 4,700 dinars are currently on sale.
