The South Korean manufacturer of cables for the automotive industry Yura Corporation will build another factory in the southern Serbian town of Leskovac, worth 40 million EUR – Leskovac Mayor, Goran Cvetanovic has confirmed.
Yura already operates one factory in Leskovac, opened in 2010, and has another factory in the central town of Raca.
The company’s plans employ 3,000 workers by 2019 in its new Leskovac facility that will be built to the highest standards. There were certain hints previously that Yura’s new plant would produce sophisticated products and that it would require mostly highly educated workforce.
In October last year, the Leskovac mayor stated that the South Korean cable manufacturer would open another two plants in Leskovac and employ 1,500 people there.
On the occasion, the mayor also announced that the South Korean investor would donate 5.5 million dinars to the General Hospital, the Health Center and the local Gymnasium.
