“The Serbian National Theatre’s (SNT) performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida will be a grandiose musical experience similar to that from the great composer’s time,” said the opera director of the Novi Sad-based theatre, Aleksandar Stankov.
The Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad will begin its 161st season with a performance of Verdi’s opera Aida in the place where the popular Exit Festival takes place.
The musical show will be performed according to the original idea of the Italian composer: outdoors, with more than 350 participants on stage, orchestra musicians, choir members, national and international soloists, dancers and a large number of extras.
The director of the SNT’s Opera, Aleksandar Stankov, also that the SNT’s performance of Aida will be similar to that of Verdi’s time and that Serbia’s oldest national theatre will begin another season despite the difficult circumstances, caused by the pandemic.
