Serbian students win five medals at the English language world finals

Elementary and high school students from Serbia won five medals and achieved the best group result in the world finals of the Hippo 2022 English language competition held in Rome. The students returned home with two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

Zara Zamurović, a student from the Đura Jakšić elementary school in Zrenjanin (mentor Dunja Antonić) won first place in the Hippo Little category, while Marko Paunović, a student of the Sremski Karlovci Grammar School (mentor Miona Brkanić) was the winner in the Hippo 5 category.

The silver medal in the Hippo 2 category went to Iskra Malinić from Belgrade (mentor Vesna Obradović). Lila Stanojević from Belgrade (mentor Maša Smiljanić) won third place in the Hippo 3 category, and Ognjen Zindović from Belgrade (mentor Ana Dimitrijević) also won third place but in the Hippo 4 category.

This year, a total of 67,520 primary and high school students from 60 countries competed. Only the best 150 made it to the world finals in Rome, including 11 from Serbia.
