At a two-hour meeting with the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vučić, Fiat workers have agreed to an offer to receive €790 in severance pay per year of work at Fiat, provided they refuse to work abroad at one of Fiat’s plants, while those workers, who had previously worked in one of former Zastava’s plants, will get €500.
Fiat’s workers will be offered one of three options.
The workers chosen by Stellantis to continue working at the Kragujevac plant will receive full pay from July 1, 2022. There are around 500 such workers, which includes the so-called protected categories.
The workers who want to continue working for another employer in the area, their employment will be terminated by mutual agreement with the payment of compensation in the amount of some €220 per year of work at Fiat and a guarantee from the President of Serbia that they will be given an adequate job.
Those workers who refuse to go abroad to work at another Stellantis’ plant, employment will be terminated by a decision on redundancy with the disbursement of severance pay in the amount of €790 per year of work at Fiat and €500 euros per year of work in one of former Zastava’s plants.
