Serbian photographer Goran Tomasevic winner of Pulitzer Prize

The Pulitzer Prize ceremony took place at Columbia University, in the US. The awards were given to various individuals and organizations for their contribution to journalism and art in 2018.

At the 101st award ceremony, prizes were given in 14 categories for reporting, photography, criticism and commentary.

The New York Times and the Washington Post are the winners of the Pulitzer Prize for public service and investigative reporting respectively, for their coverage of the ongoing investigation into possible contacts between US President Donald Trump’s presidential team and Russian officials.

For the first time, a reporter from Serbia was also among the winners. A renowned Serbian photographer, Goran Tomasevic from Belgrade, who works for Reuters photo agency, was awarded in the Breaking News Photography for his heartbreaking photo of a boy who was killed in gang violence in Honduras.
