Serbian government to cover IVF costs for women up to the age of 45

The Serbian government has adopted a regulation which now covers the costs of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) for women up to the age of 45, instead of up to 43 as was previously the case.

As announced, this decision will allow more women, whether married or not, to have their first or second child up to the age of 45, through artificial insemination financed by state health insurance.

“In view of the need to create the widest possible insurance cover for women who meet one of the prescribed medical conditions to become mothers, and for families to realize their wish to have children, it was necessary to amend the Health Plan in this direction,” the government’s press release read.
