In the presence of the Serbian Prime Minister, Ana Brnabić, a business agreement was signed yesterday in the state data center in Kragujevac with one of the leading IT companies in the world, Oracle Corporation.
The agreement was signed by Kenneth Johansen, regional director of Oracle Corporation for Northern and Eastern Europe, and Danilo Savić, director of Data Cloud Technology in Kragujevac. In addition to Brnabić, the signing was attended by the deputy chief of mission of the U.S. Embassy, John Ginkle, the director of the Serbian Office for Information Technology and eGovernment, Mihailo Jovanović, and the mayor of Kragujevac, Nikola Dašić.
By signing this agreement, Serbia positions itself as a leader in the IT sector in Southeast Europe. After signing the agreement, the Prime Minister said that the partnership with Oracle is a very good thing for building the image of Serbia as a state and that this is the crown achievement of Serbia’s digitization and an indicator of what Serbia can do and how much it believes in domestic talent.
She also mentioned that, when it comes to Europe, Oracle only operates in London, Frankfurt and Milan, and as of today in Kragujevac as well.
